feet in the sea

The first thing we did after my successful arrival in France was to go to the beach and see the ocean from the other side. Of course, it's not technically the Atlantic ocean where I was in France, but the channel, but hey, it feeds into the ocean so this is still the closest I've got. When I go to Dublin it'll be the "Irish Sea" so that's not any better.
My first visit to the sea I didn't put my feet in because it was super super low tide and I would have had to walk through  a ton of icky shit to get all the way to the water. The choices were go barefoot, or ruin my really nice brown leather boots. I waited. Once Florent and I returned to Bretagne after visiting Lyon and skiing at les Deux Alpes, we spent the day at the beach. We visited Saint Briac and Saint Malo, both of which were stunningly beautiful places. It was also amazing to feel the wind and sun on my face and hear the sounds of the water, after spending so long in a land-trapped city. Florent has the pictures of me actually meeting the water, but here is one of the beach for you to get the idea of how beautiful it was on this day in France.

now, after stealing some pictures, here is documentation of my first encounter with the French sea:

success. barefoot in february.
