The Alpenhotel is loacted right in the middle of a whole web of hiking, running, and cross-country skiing paths, all of which aren't too demanding. Mom and I took advantage of this today, taking a short walk at 8 AM before breakfast, and then going on a longer one in the afternoon. We were supposed to walk an hour to get to a beautiful little Gasthaus where we could have lunch, but I got us completely lost (yes, with a good for nothing map!) and we ended up walking 3 hours in a circle and just going back to the hotel for lunch. oh well, all's well that ends well. and this adventure ended in a large beer for mom and great lunch.
