He is risen!

a message from the church at Chorherrenstift in Dürnstein, Austria, which mom and I visited with our lovely friends the Doleschels yesterday! Mom, Clara and I are  going to be spending Easter attending the mass at the Augustinerkirche to hear the Cäcilienmesse by Ch. Gounoud, packing, and visiting one last park.

Happy Easter everyone!

love,
lucy

  1. Debbie and I heard Beethoven Mass in C at Augustinerkirche one November - cold in the church, but lovely music. Quite echo-y, imagine it's hard to play in there, so much reverb!

  2. I heard the Schubert Mass in G back in March, and Mozart's Piccolominimass last week with mom. The soprano soloists they have are way better than most of the leading sopranos I've heard at the state opera...I also think the Augustinekirche is my favorite church in vienna. you know, it was the marriage chapel for the Habsburgers and it has 65 of their hearts in gold and silver jars stored in it as well?? all the bodies are under Stephansdom...
